Commercial Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus production in net cages at the River Dakatia, Chandpur, Bangladesh

This study examined the intensification of mono-sex Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticusaquaculturein riverine net cages installed at River Dakatia, Roghunathpur, Chandpur. performed 120-day cage grow-out trials with densities 50, 75, and 100 m-3 under three replications an average initial weight 28.92±8.37g per juvenile fish. The monthly water quality parameters (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, total alkalinity hardness, ammonia-N Nitrite-N) in installation area Dakatia were found to be suitable for culture. gain was significantly (p < 0.05) higher 50 stocking density than other two tested. mean final specific growth rate densitythan densities.
